Online counselling across Ontario
Individual
counselling.
A space to explore what you are facing, understand patterns, and consider your next steps.
New Hope Counselling Centre offers virtual individual counselling across Ontario. Sessions with James Miklos, Registered Psychotherapist, begin with understanding your concerns and discussing whether the approach is a suitable fit.

One-to-one support
Virtual individual counselling in Ontario.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, experiencing anxiety or low mood, adjusting to a loss, or noticing reactions you would like to understand. Individual counselling offers time to talk about your experiences and what matters to you.
Together, we can explore your concerns, identify goals, and consider ways of responding that fit your circumstances. The pace and approach are discussed with you.
Concerns you may wish to discuss
- Anxiety, panic, stress and low mood
- Grief, loss and changes in relationships or work
- Trauma and the effects of difficult or abusive experiences
- Anger, self-esteem and recurring thought or behaviour patterns
- Addiction-related concerns and coping patterns
- Parenting, separation, identity and spiritual concerns
When appropriate, we can discuss EMDR therapy or Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), including preparation and suitability. Counselling is tailored to your needs; outcomes vary.
A collaborative approach
What we can work on together.
Understand your experience.
Discuss what has been happening, how it affects you, and the concerns you want to address.
Consider patterns.
Explore thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationship responses without assuming one explanation fits everyone.
Choose next steps.
Discuss goals, possible approaches and practical changes, and review how the work is going.
Virtual sessions
Support from your own private setting.
Online counselling is available to clients across Ontario, including Burlington and Oakville. A private space, a suitable device and a reliable connection help you take part in virtual sessions.
Before beginning, we discuss suitability for online counselling, informed consent, privacy and its limits, and what to do if the connection is interrupted.
Before you begin
A few practical questions.
How do I get started?
Visit Before We Meet to read about the approach and request the private practice details. You can then discuss whether a consultation is a suitable next step.
Is virtual counselling suitable for everyone?
Suitability depends on your needs, circumstances, privacy and safety. We discuss these together before deciding whether online sessions are appropriate.
Where can I find fees and privacy information?
Read the practice details and privacy policy. Ask any questions about fees, consent or confidentiality before beginning.
A thoughtful first step
Before we meet.
You do not need to have everything figured out before asking about counselling. Read about the practice and tell me what you would like support with.
