Emotional Freedom Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques is a powerful self-help method that can empower and transform a person’s life. This method has shown through clinical trials that EFT is able to quickly and safely reduce emotions that contribute to distress and disease. Research has shown that emotional trauma is a major contributing factor to disease. After using EFT distress is reduced or removed allowing the mind and the body to begin rebalancing itself, which can facilitate healing. Using EFT reduces the emotional impact of our memories and the associated emotional triggers.

Intro to EFT

This amazing therapeutic technique can heal and resolve numerous issues. Watch and listen to these physicians and others who have experienced dramatic results!

Background

Gary Craig developed EFT where he utilized Traditional Chinese Medicine’s acupuncture points along with psychology, but without the needles! The method is quite simple yet profound in its affects.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) had its origins from Thought Field Therapy, which was created by Roger Callahan, a clinical in the USA. Dr. Callahan discovered that by stimulating acupressure or energy points lead to an emotional relief in a distressed client which led to further work leading him to the utilization of many acupressure points for therapeutic uses.

Gary Craig was an understudy of Roger Callahan’s who modified and simplified the method into a comprehensive set of points that could address any emotional problem. He called his comprehensive technique, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), through which he obtained excellent results on a broad range of emotional and physical problems.

What is EFT good for?

  • In solving issues that include: anxiety, fears, phobias, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, grief, anger, guilt, etc.
  • To enhance performance
  • Improve relationships. EFT helps relationships by reducing the emotional upset we may have towards our partner, often having its origin in our past.  EFT can overcome and remove barriers to many our relationships and work relationships.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about EFT is that anyone can learn this approach and use it to help themselves. While some problems require persistence with the technique over a period of time, and some will require the intervention of a skilled therapist, many ordinary people can learn EFT and apply it successfully to the general problems and stresses of living.

Note: While EFT has achieved excellent results with many physical conditions the technique should not be seen as a substitute for appropriate medical care and should always be used in conjunction with medical consultation and intervention for such conditions.

Do It Yourself Tapping

This self-help EFT video is for those who would like to work on their issues remotely. This is a tap with James Miklos video.

Using EFT

Once your target and set up has been completed then we begin by tapping the side of the hand where the pinky finger is located also that which is known as the karate chop part. On either hand constantly tap using all the fingers of the other hand. As you do so then insert the words that best describes your problem (eg. “Public speaking fear, Unforgiveness”). Then tap on each of the points about 3 to 10 times while remaining focused on your problem. Then verbally proceed through all of the aspects of the problem that are disturbing you while you tap on the various points working in a downward motion.

For best results consult a trained professional or attend one of our workshops.

Research

There are numerous studies that have and are continuing to be done on the effectiveness of EFT. Psychologists Steve Wells, Kathy Polglase, Henry Andrews, Patricia Carrington, and Harvey Baker did one such research at Curtin University in Western Australia. This research found that EFT was successful in treating specific phobias and the results showed greater results than that of traditional treatment. This study was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, September 2003 edition.
