What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR is a proven therapy that relieves stress.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an integrative psychotherapeutic approach which had its beginning in 1987 when Francine Shapiro was walking in a park experiencing some negative thoughts and feelings then she noticed that her eye movements decreased the negative feelings.  This made her curious and began researching the possibility of how eye movements can improve thoughts, feelings, and moods in people.

EMDR since its beginning has had many challenges due to its claims that eye movements can change the way you feel and think.  More than 30 positive controlled outcome studies have been published with many other observational evidences through the use of fMRIs and SPECT imagings.  EMDR has been proven effective for the treatment of trauma and numerous other mental health issues.
